Our Wedding.

Here’s a peek at our Wedding day last October and all of the details.

I never really had a vision of what my wedding day would be like but once the time came I imagined it would be minimal and relaxed.

I wanted the details to be simple yet meaningful. With help from our friends and parents it all turned out so special. There’s always gonna be bumps along the way wether that be weather, food, dress malfunctions, etc. but in the end if you’re like me you wouldn’t change a thing.

We got married October 14th on the beach at our families house. The ceremony was on the sand with the reception to follow in the yard. We got ready at the house and took photos on the Jetty right out front. This beach is so special to us and someplace we grew up coming to together while dating.

the details:

I was fortunate enough to have some major help when planning out the details. I knew I wanted certain things to be done by hand and have a more personal, meaningful design and my family and friends we’re a huge help in that.

Every napkin was handmade by my Mom and I out of various tan and white linen fabrics for a mismatched look. My MOH designed our drink holders and another of my bridesmaids created the sketches for our invites and welcome signs. We used my Father In Law’s restored Bronco as our getaway car and had the 7 layer cake we grew up eating every Summer from the local bake shop for our wedding cake. My husband and I handmade our seating chart and a-frame welcome sign. We were also able to incorporate some items from the shop into that day like our flower girl’s basket.

the dress:

I know this will come as no surprise but the dress is something I really cared about and wanted to get right (haha). I looked at some dress shops near by and wasn’t finding what I had in mind. There were a few brands I had been eyeing online and I finally narrowed it down to one dress. The only place in the U.S. that sold the brand (Lola Varma) was in Brooklyn; Mom and I planned a trip. The One Bridal shop is located in a super cool area called Industry City. There’s unique shopping and food options which made it nice before and after our appointment.

I ended up with another dress than planned by the same brand. I had it tailored to fit slightly different than the way we styled it at my appointment. I’m so pleased with how it turned out.

the look:

The rest of the look I felt was just as important.

I wanted unique pieces that I would be able to wear again after the wedding. I found a shoe company called Amanu that hand crafts sustainable sandals. Not only were these the perfect wedding sandal but also a pair I still wear often.

For jewelry I was gifted a pair of my favorite earrings from my Mom that are by Hernan Herdez, a handcrafted jewelry company in NY. Another item that has become a closet staple.

My engagement ring is an emerald cut solitaire by Ceremony.

the day:

As fun as picking out all the details was, the most important part was celebrating our marriage with our friends and family.

I was excited to hire a Local Shade customer turned friend, Beks with The Family Films to capture everything. Needless to say she nailed it and captured the day truly as it was.

Make it stand out
