The Home Edit.

it’s here!

If you’ve been following Local Shade for a while then you know this is long overdue.

I’m excited to finally share a look inside our home as well as answers to some of my most asked questions.

our home.

In November of 2021 we purchased our home and started on what ended up being about a 7 month renovation (I’ll save that story for another post). Since then, I’ve been taking my time filling our space with special pieces from the shop, some of my favorite brands, as well as pieces I’ve thrifted. My biggest advice when filling your home and/or renovating is to not rush it. Take your time to find pieces that mean something to you.

what inspires me?

A lot of my inspiration is found when sourcing products for the shop as well as in a lot of the coffee table books we sell.

One of my favorite things to do is to kick back on the couch, flip through my favorite books and dream up future home projects.

Where is the couch from? Six Penny! Highly recommend.

what’s my style?

I was recently asked this question and ultimately I landed on eclectic minimalism.

I collect things as I go that I like and that mean something to me and I think that keeps Things interesting.

I prefer this rather than boxing myself in by sticking to a certain color palette or look.

When sourcing for the shop I try and keep things fresh and different.

I look for pieces that are handmade, timeless, and unique.

I want you to leave feeling like you found something special that you will have forever.

I occasionally restock our staple items but a lot of pieces are here for a short time or will come back in a new color way.

Here are some of my favorites at home.

where do I source from?

I source from a variety of different places but one tip I find useful

is to save a list of brand names you find that you like that way when you’re ready to

purchase something specific you have a list of brands to look back at.

Thanks for reading!!
